Plot

The episode starts with all the apartment residents getting together as a band called the Talking Airheads, which features Shane on guitar, David on drums and a cowbell, the Schmuzzies on the marimba, Fido the Fly on trumpet, and Puppet as the songwriter.

David plays his drums for a while, and Shane really likes how it sounds, especially with the added cowbell at the end of his drum solos.

The upside down show pilot

David tells Shane that the cowbell belongs to an imaginary cow he has named Clarabelle the Clinking Clanking Cowbell Cow, who gets upset if you compliment her cowbell without also complimenting her. Shane accidentally does just that, which makes Clarabelle so upset she leaves when the others aren't looking.

Puppet arrives, telling the gang that he has a new song for them to play, but just as David starts playing his imaginary drums, they finally notice that Clarabelle has left. Realizing that they can't play the new song without the cowbell, they start looking for it.
