While on Today, a video of Rubio condemning the January 6th riots played.
"My entire life with and alongside people who came to America fleeing countries plagued by political violence and by chaos," the Cuban-American said at the time.
"Today, America looked like the countries that they came here to get away from," the former Florida senator was quoted saying.
"Vladimir Putin loved everything that happened today because what happened is better than anything he could have ever come up with to make us look like we're falling apart."
While interviewing Rubio, Melvin asked the Republican about his change in stance.

However, Rubio quickly shared he would not "engage in domestic political debates" with the press and couldn't discuss it due to his current role.
